Beach Bums

A few more weekends of summer fun! I hope to be at the beach next week. However, my son called tonight and said a tropical storm could be coming their way. I hope it fizzles. I love the beach. Warm breeze, salty air, seashells and sand between your toes........

I bought two of these beach signs at Michaels on clearance. I did this one a little differently. I going to give this one to my son and daughter-in-law and since he surfs I thought Surf Edwin was perfect. The flip flops actually have sand from their beach. You will see a close-up further down on this post.

Here is what I used to create the sign:
Magnolia Stamps: Flip Flop Tilda, Surf Edwin, Beach Fence
Memory Box Die: Huno
Epoxy Stickers from Iron Orchid
Paper from Iron Orchid - Beach Cottage
Cheese Cloth
Liquid Pearls
Copic Markers

Tilda with Ballet Shoes all in Pink

This sweet card was such a joy to create. I used plain pink cardstock for the base of the card then a layer of kraft paper. I used an oval spell binders with print paper and I also cut the large bird cage out of the DP. I have a layer of the corrugated kraft paper. The sentiment was stamped on kraft paper as were the leaves for the flowers. I used white ink on the edges of all the craft paper and Gathered Twigs Distress ink on all the other papers. I got some beautiful lace fabric from Webster's pages which is the third layer of the card. It adds an elegant softness to the design.

Here is close up of Tilda:

The recipe for this card:
Magnolia Stamp - Tilda with Ballet Shoes
Darcie Stamps - Sentiment
Spellbinders
Memory Box Die - Bird Cage
Dienamic Die - Leaves

Winter Tilda

The card did not turn out the way I wanted; not my favorite design. I decided to mix it up a little and create a Christmas card. I am slowly building up an inventory. I used a Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder to create the post card background. The floral arrangement has the new flowers from the weekend shopping excursion. The small dark red flowers are cut from a floral trim I had on hand. I thought it added that shabby chic element.

Hello! I can't believe it's Sunday already... I am so excited about making this card for the Totally Tilda - DT Call. It is my dream and on my bucket list to be part of a design team that creates beautiful cards and projects using Magnolia stamps. I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer.....Good luck to everyone!!!!

Yesterday I took the dogs to the groomers then I was going to go to a wonderful craft store filled with goodies which is 1.5 hours from my house. Well those plans were nixed when my back window would not close and yes, rain was on the horizon. So my wonderful husband drove my car to the garage. I was disappointed and went to a smaller store nearby. Well I am glad I did because that is where I got all the beautiful flowers and papers I used to make my card!

Here are the ingredients I used to create this sweet card:
Magnolia Stamp - Summer Memories Collection - Water Lily Tilda
Rosies Roadshow Stamp - Sentiment

Sweet Princess Tilda

Can you believe it is Friday already? Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I'm going to get my hair done and relax, oh yes and do some crafting. I hope my husband takes me out for some delicious ice cream.....

I went to Michaels today and got another wooden item this time for .25. I love it. I haven't decided what I will do with my new item.

I am pleased with the way this card turned out. Tilda is just too sweet!! There is a funny little story to go with this card, it is like the story my dog at my homework. Well you see my dog Holly is quite mischievous and a bit jealous of the puppy. I had laid the design of the card out on my table not glued. It must of happened this morning so I went up tonight to finish the card and....she ate all four flowers and the ribbon. Oh yes, ate them, gone.... Fortunately, she didn't eat my image, die cuts or paper... I have to say I wasn't impressed.

Here is a tilted view of the card:

And lastly, a close up:

Flip Flop Tilda and MiaMia Flamingo go to the Beach

Happy Tuesday,

How's your week going? Today I spent the day with about 200 Pre K - 1st grade teachers and Dr. Jean Feldman. We did a lot of singing and fun activities. I have the song "If your happy and you know It" stuck in my head. Don't forget about my blog candy. There are lots of new Magnolias coming soon....click here!

I got my new photo box. I am experimenting; I think it will take more practice to improve my photos.

I got the wooden beach sign at Michaels for .80 cents this weekend. The minute I saw it I had to have it and I was creating a design in my head before I left the store. First, I painted it with steel gray paint. I was going to use white crackle paint for the flat part of the sign but sadly it was dried out (rather disappointed in that as I only used it twice). So I had the idea to use the cheese cloth to represent netting.

A closer view of Tilda:

MiaMia the flamingo was stamped on printed Authentique patterned paper. I just couldn't bring myself to put a hot pink flamingo with this color scheme. Tilda's top was also cut from the same printed paper. I covered the letters with patterned paper too.

We can't forget MiaMia:

Here is what I used to create this beach themed project:

Magnolia Stamps - Flip Flop Tilda & MiaMia Flamingo

Distress Ink - Salty Ocean
Copic Markers
