A Bit of London

Pink, Pink and More Pink

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. My husband told me last night that he was sorry he was not romantic. He did give me some yummy candy.

This morning we go to our favorite spot Burdicks for coffee and scones. Now for about a month I have been admiring two gorgeous paintings. Then I see the artist come in and it looks to me she is changing her paintings on the wall.

However, my husband says to me the paintings are "yours".  "Happy Valentine's Day." I have to say I was speechless and there were tears. But what was really cool was he arranged for the artist to sit and talk with us. The name of the painting is "Bloom". I would say my wonderful husband is very romantic. I have had a very difficult year, my husband has been amazing. I love him more than ever. Below is my gift:

Hello Maggie Fans,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. They just seem to fly by. Today I got some upsetting news about my sweet friend Kathy. If you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers this week that would be wonderful.

I had a great time making this card. I wanted to do an easel but not a boxy one. So I went online and found a heart template that I used for the base of my card.  I am pleased with the way my designed turned out.

Copic Markers: Skin E000, E00, R20; hair E40, E41, E42, E43, E47; tights R0000, R00 (added some polka dots), shoes R37, R39 then I added a touch of liquid glass to her shoes. The candy was colored with R0000, R01, R81, R83, R37, R39, E25, E42.
I chose to paper piece the candy boxes, her dress and bow to give the a softer vintage feel.
I used a satin and lace trim around the heart. lace under the heart, and some lacey floral time on the front of the base of the card.
I chose matching and contrasting ribbon.

Tilda's Apple Pie Recipe

Hello Maggie Fans,

Can you believe it is February? Spring is getting closer. Today I would like to share a special recipe card with you.

I have used three images to create my card. Apple Tilda is featured on the front. She was colored with Copic Makers - hair E40, 41, 42, 43; skin E000, E00, R20; dress E40, E41, E42, R000, R01, E04; basket E15, E17, E18; apples E18, G21, G40, R24, YG03. Her bandana and boots were paper pieced.

Here is inside of the card using Pie Tilda sitting on a bench contemplating the recipe:

Pie Tilda was also colored with Copic Markers - hair E40, 41, 42, 43; skin E000, E00, R20; blouse and socks R000, R01, E04; bench. Her bandana, pants and shoes were paper pieced.

Hair E40, 41, 42, 43; Skin E000, 00, R35; Eyes G21, G40; Flower and dress R35, R37, R39; Leaves G94, 99. For the center of the flowers I used a yellow liquid pearls. I kept my design very simple.
